Long before I had a positive test, I was browsing BabyCenter for articles about early pregnancy signs. Once my test confirmed I was expecting, John and I logged on to calculate our due date. I signed up for the weekly emails tracking our baby’s growth (which I still read aloud to John whenever they arrive) and joined the May moms message board to chat with other expectant parents.

After Clara arrived, the BabyCenter emails shifted to updates about life after the womb, and John still hears me read them out loud. I also check the May message board to follow milestones other babies are reaching and to learn how fellow parents are handling the same challenges we face with our two-month-old.
So you can imagine how excited I was when BabyCenter reached out and invited John and me to contribute a blog about baby-friendly home topics—things like toy organization, ways to display kids’ artwork, and toddler-friendly decor—as part of their Momformation team. I may have celebrated a little too enthusiastically; Clara and John laughed at my over-the-top reaction while Burger backed away in alarm.

Although that email arrived only a few weeks ago, our very first post is already live on BabyCenter. If you told us you were interested in baby-focused content, we hope you’ll stop by and take a look. Many readers come to Young House Love for home improvement and decor tips that aren’t baby-related, which is why we’ve intentionally kept baby chatter here to a minimum. Plenty of you have asked for a baby-focused spin-off since Clara’s arrival, but we simply don’t have time to run a separate blog. Our once-weekly column on BabyCenter is the perfect compromise.

Today’s post is an introduction, but we already have a long list of kid-related projects planned for upcoming weeks. We’re eager to share tutorials, helpful tips, and creative ideas that can be adapted for babies, toddlers, tweens, teens, or even adults—and many would make great gifts for nieces or nephews. If you’re expecting, have a new baby, or simply enjoy family-friendly projects, we hope you’ll visit BabyCenter on Tuesdays when our new posts go live each week.
With the announcement made, it’s time for a heartfelt thank-you. Your support—through comments, social shares, and kind messages—means the world to us and continually inspires what we do. We appreciate each of you more than we can say. Now someone hand me a tissue.
