Refresh Your Kitchen with Framed Art: Simple Stylish Ideas

When Jen sent us photos of her stunning kitchen makeover from England, we were excited to share them. Here’s the note she sent:

I absolutely love your blog and find your style so inspiring. I wanted to share my latest project with you as I am so pleased with it. I created a wall of colourful pictures in my kitchen and I love how it turned out. I am a photographer so all it cost me was the price of the prints (they are 8×12 inches each) and the frames were only $8 a piece. Thanks again for all of your inspiration! -Jen

It’s impressive what a few inexpensive frames and thoughtfully chosen, kitchen-themed prints can do to transform a space. Jen, being a photographer, kept costs low by using her own prints (8×12 inches) and budget frames around $8 each. The result is a bright, cohesive gallery wall that adds personality and warmth to the kitchen.

The arrangement shows how mixing colors and close-up food imagery creates a playful, appetizing focal point above the countertop. Framing and consistent print sizing help the collection read as one curated piece rather than a random assortment, which is a simple trick anyone can replicate on a modest budget.

If you’re considering a similar update, here are a few quick tips inspired by this project:

  • Choose prints with a common theme—colour, subject, or style—to keep the display unified.
  • Use identical frames and matting to create cohesion; inexpensive frames can still look polished when matched.
  • Work with consistent print sizes for a cleaner, grid-like layout that’s easy to plan and hang.
  • Place the gallery at eye level over the primary workspace to make it a natural focal point.

We love seeing before-and-after photos and the simple, creative ways readers refresh their homes. Keep sending them—these projects are a delicious source of inspiration for us all.
