As we keep unpacking, we wanted to share this year’s virtual gift roundup inspired by last year’s guide. This is the first of three posts (we split it into three since there were too many photos to fit into one), so check back later for two more. First stop: Crate & Barrel. Here are the budget-friendly finds we liked.
These charming wine glasses were on sale for $1.50 each. Pair two of them with an affordable bottle of wine for a simple, thoughtful gift that won’t break the bank.

This pretty ceramic serving tray, marked down to $5.95, would make a lovely host gift. Fill it with cookies, candy, or an assortment of fancy olives for someone who loves antipasti. A good-looking platter always feels special, especially with a subtle store logo on the back.

We were also taken with these elegant votive glasses at $3.95 each. A trio with simple white votives inside would be a sweet, understated present. Full disclosure: if we hadn’t been in the middle of packing and moving while shooting these photos, we likely would’ve picked up a few for ourselves.

These colorful bowls were $3.95 each. Consider gifting a set filled with the recipient’s favorite cereal, mixed nuts, or caramel corn—simple and cheerful.

For the baking enthusiast, these cupcake-shaped cookie cutters were just $2.95. Pair them with a baking cookbook or a small bundle of flour, sugar, and baking soda for an easy, fun gift.

Don’t forget the pets—these designer dog toys are both cute and affordable, and they’d look right at home under the tree or scattered on the floor for a pup to find.

These lively, pepper-patterned dishtowels were just $4.95—perfect for anyone with red or green kitchen accents. They’re functional and festive without being over the top.

We noticed a neat DIY idea: using grasscloth wallpaper as book covers. It’s similar to classic craft paper covers but adds a textured, woven look that feels more finished and unique.

We’ve been using patterned napkins recently in our own holiday table settings, and these were on sale for $2.95 each (down from $4.95). A set of four tied with a ribbon makes a simple, attractive gift for about $12.

Another easy DIY present is an “I’m not bored anymore” kit for kids: fill a box or jar with markers, crayons, pipe cleaners, stickers, scissors, balloons, and other inexpensive craft items. It’s a fun, low-cost way to encourage creativity and keep little hands busy.

These delicate ceramic leaf ornaments were $3.95 and perfect for anyone who appreciates simple white ceramic pieces—gift them to a friend or treat yourself while browsing.

We also loved this white ceramic pinecone ornament for $6.95—another understated, stylish option for a tree or package accent.

And, naturally, we snapped the obligatory photo of John and Clara in the Clara chair—looking good as always.

That wraps up our Crate & Barrel stroll. We’ll be back soon with budget-friendly picks from Pottery Barn and Urban Outfitters—there were too many photos to fit into a single post this year. In the meantime, we’ll be unpacking… again.
Update: Check our favorite holiday decor finds for more affordable ideas—many items are under $15.
