Our readers have done it again: Better Homes & Gardens’ Kitchen + Bath Makeovers magazine featured another project from our community. Like Lindsay and Jessica before her, Christina’s budget-friendly kitchen makeover—originally shared here on YHL as a Reader Redesign in February—appeared in the magazine’s “Do It For Less” section. We’re celebrating right along with them.

Christina and her husband Trevor are featured on a two-page spread that highlights their astonishing $1,400 kitchen transformation. That figure is accurate—no missing zero—and the project was a complete overhaul: they replaced appliances, installed new flooring, and updated the cabinets, all while keeping costs remarkably low. Congratulations to Christina and Trevor for the well-earned magazine spotlight, and for sharing their savvy renovations with us.

Budget kitchen makeovers like theirs always inspire questions: what’s the best bargain you’ve scored for your kitchen? Maybe you found a secondhand appliance on Craigslist, negotiated a great price on cabinets, or discovered affordable hardware on eBay. We’ve had our share of luck: once we picked up a free dishwasher and paired it with a very inexpensive faucet and sink. Smart deals like those can feel empowering—like you’ve beaten the system and stretched your dollar further than you thought possible.
