We made a sweet little mini-makeover today. John stayed home feeling under the weather, and while he napped on the couch I quietly rearranged the third bedroom to create a useful, attractive spot for writing cards and wrapping gifts. We loved the wall of frames in that room and wanted a reason to use the space more often, so I swapped the never-used reading chair for our old kitchen table that had been tucked in the basement.
One hallway closet had been overflowing with gift bags, rolls of wrapping paper, tissue paper, and ribbons, while my desk in the den was cluttered with cards, stationery, and envelopes. Consolidating those items into one tidy workspace made perfect sense: everything is now organized, easy to access, and in one place. John woke up to a refreshed room — and a much less crowded closet. I repurposed a woven basket that once held books into a bag basket for gift bags and tissue paper. Being able to see what I have at a glance will save time and prevent buying duplicates:
My favorite feature is the colorful, well-organized desktop. An old basket became a simple filing unit for printed manila folders that hold envelopes and cards sorted by occasion. This keeps everything neat and easy to find when I’m writing a note or preparing a gift:
