House Crashing: Luxe & Lovely — Part Two Decor Reveal

You remember Stacie, right? She lives downtown in a beautiful home that we helped decorate, and we even featured her in one of our early House Crashing posts.

Her bedroom before the makeover looked like this:

We created one of our first mood boards to guide her redesign, and the result was a dramatic transformation into this elegant bedroom:

We also helped her refresh the dining room for a big party. Here’s how the room looked before we started:

And here are the after photos that show the space dressed up for the event.

You might also recognize the dramatic transom window above the French doors that lead into her kitchen:

Her living room is equally bold, with dark walls, oversized windows and ruby-red curtains that frame the space beautifully:

After revisiting some of these rooms from our earlier feature, we wanted to share the latest update: Jeff, Stacie’s boyfriend, painted a stunning mural in the entryway. This is the entry before the makeover:

Jeff designed a detailed cherry blossom branch specifically for the space, then projected the image onto the wall to trace and paint at full scale. Here is the mural in progress:

Meet Jeff, the muralist, ready with his projector:

He created the cherry blossom in Photoshop, collaborated with Stacie on the details, and previewed the composition on the wall before transferring the outline. Once the tracing was complete, Jeff began filling in the design with careful brushwork:

As he painted, he added intricate cutouts and delicate detailing to give the mural a layered, sophisticated look:

Here’s the finished entryway with the full cherry blossom mural:

The mural climbs the stair wall organically because it was custom-designed for that exact space. Seeing it in person is even more impressive than photos convey.

Up close, you can appreciate the attention given to the small round buds and the subtle highlights along the branches. Those tiny white slivers give the branches dimension and catch the light from the chandelier above, adding realism and elegance rather than a cartoonish feel:

This entryway project is a beautiful addition to an already remarkable home — a perfect example of how a well-executed mural can transform a space.

Jeff is available for mural commissions locally and can be contacted by email. If you’re inspired, consider what a custom mural could do for your home — whether on a staircase, an entryway, a bedroom accent wall, or any other room that could use a unique focal point.

We’re always looking for beautiful homes to feature. If you or someone you know has a house that’s ready to be showcased, send us photos and details — and if we’re in the area, we’d love to stop by.
