Thanks to our master bedroom’s full-length mirror (a surprise wedding gift from John so I could get a final look before walking out the back door to get married), the second mirror to the right of the bedroom door felt redundant.

We decided to replace that extra mirror with one of our homemade botanical prints framed in an inexpensive Ikea frame. It brightened the space immediately, and I like it enough that I’d love to add a second frame beneath it with a different botanical print—though I’ll have to wait until our next Ikea run.

We purposely sized our DIY botanicals to fit those square Ikea frames for a luxe look without the price tag. A touch of nature does wonders in a bedroom, and the best part is you don’t need to water it.

With bulbs poking up in the flowerbeds and forsythia beginning their annual show, I felt like freshening the art over my desk, too. The existing piece is a favorite—a photo from our Alaskan honeymoon taken from a tiny seaplane as we flew over a glacier dusted in volcanic ash—but spring had me craving something greener and more tropical.

I swapped in another botanical print we made—an easy two-minute change—and the lighter, leafy vibe feels perfect for the season.

Do you switch out accessories or artwork when spring arrives? We’d love to hear how you bring seasonal change into your home—small swaps, fresh textiles, new prints, or any simple updates that help welcome warmer weather.
Note: we’ve added our den’s corner office to the room-by-room source guide on our House Tour page, so you can see where we found the boxes, tins, desk, and lamp featured in these photos.
