We had other plans for this week’s post, but Hurricane Sally moved slowly across the Gulf and brought several rainy days our way. Fortunately we avoided power loss and flooding, so we’re feeling very grateful. We hope everyone more directly affected is safe and their homes are okay. Because the weather prevented the outdoor photos we’d planned for this week’s exterior update, we used the time to build two blog pages people have been requesting for months. So for everyone who asked, they’re finally live.
First up is a brand-new Before & After page for our Florida house. You’ll find a clear visual tour showing where each room started and how far it’s come. “After” might be a little hopeful—none of the spaces are at their permanent final stage yet (it’s only been four months)—but they already feel so good and settled. Maybe that’s because we’ve been home more than usual, cooking most meals, doing virtual learning, and using each space more intensively. Whatever the reason, this house feels especially comfortable to us so early on.

We’ll continue updating the Before & After page as rooms evolve and we take new photos. For now it’s a convenient place to get a quick snapshot of each makeover and to follow links to more detailed posts on projects you want to learn more about.

Alongside the Before & After gallery, we also launched a new “Shop Our House” page for this Florida home. Many of you have asked for a single page listing paint colors and product sources, since we’ve shared similar pages for past homes. The new page lists exact paint shades, rugs, furniture, and accessories—and when an item is no longer available, we try to suggest close alternatives. This page will be updated over time as we add or swap items (for example, if we add a headboard in a bedroom, we’ll update the room photo and link to it).

You can access the Shop Our House page from the menu under the “Our Current House” button. If you’re searching for paint colors or sources from our previous homes—like the pink beach house, our duplex rental, or our last Richmond home—those are collected under “Our Previous Homes” in the dropdown menu.

Sorry for the delay in putting these pages together, but we’re glad they’re done now. They’re meant to be helpful and easy to use whether you want a quick before-and-after view or need exact product and paint details. We’ll keep both pages current as rooms change.

Thanks for your patience and for all the questions asking for these resources. The sun just came back out here, so next week we should be able to get the outdoor shots we missed and share recent updates to the exterior and yard spaces.
