We never tire of seeing clever makeovers like the one Sada and her husband Reagan shared with us. They turned an otherwise wasted wall in their entryway into a practical coat zone and a lovely display for art and personal mementos. Their choices—joyful prints and carefully placed keepsakes—make the space feel both functional and inviting. Here’s what they wrote:
My husband and I recently redid our entryway. With the layout of our house, a full mudroom wasn’t possible, but we had this large blank wall right by the front door.

We made the most of it by adding board and batten. Here’s our before and after—our own version of a mudroom.

It’s practical and adds a welcome pop of color.

The only thing we’re still working on is the lighting—both the fixture and the limited natural light, as you can probably tell from the photos. We’re trying to improve both, but I already love how much cheerier the entryway feels. I find myself just staring at it!

I love your blog (and would be thrilled if this were featured!) — Sada
The woodwork looks great, but the art arrangement is the standout. Mixing engagement photos with actual items used in the shoot adds personality and narrative to the display. The colorful prints and vintage-style bottles bring a playful, nostalgic vibe while the dark hardware grounds the design.
A few details stand out: the cheerful “Love” and “Always Radiate Sunshine” prints give the wall warmth, and the soda bottles add unexpected charm—small touches that make a big impact. If you’d like specifics on how they completed the project and where they sourced the pieces, Sada shares more details on her blog.
What’s your favorite element? The gallery-style art, the functional hooks, or the contrasting hardware? For us, it’s the balance of practicality and personality—an entry that welcomes and delights at the same time.
