When Audrey sent us her sweet nursery makeover, we were excited to share it. Here’s her note:
I enjoy reading your blog and wanted to share a before-and-after that has gotten great feedback on my blog. My sister is due in a few months with a baby boy and is on modified bed rest, so she couldn’t create the nursery herself. I’m a commercial interior designer by trade, and I decided to tackle the decorating and put together this nursery for her with help from family during a weekend visit. I hope you enjoy it. A few details about the makeover:
- We worked on a budget, so most items came from Ikea or Target, except for the ceiling fan and glider from Babies R Us.
- The blue paint is Valspar 5001-5B, High Noon, chosen in a low-VOC formula for the baby’s room.
- For the bike mural we borrowed an overhead projector from my sister’s school, projected a bike image found online, traced it with a white paint pen, and filled it in with ceiling white paint.
- The before photo was taken before they moved in, which explains the outdated floral bedding and lace window treatments.
Keep up the good work! – Audrey
We love a good before and after, and this one is especially charming. Here’s the granny-inspired before image:

Isn’t Audrey’s makeover inspiring? The room feels fresh, playful, and thoughtfully designed. That bike mural is a delightful focal point—what a lucky baby, and a very lucky sister.
