It’s hard to believe it’s already been four years since we started this little blog — originally just a place for friends and family to follow our kitchen makeover on our first home.
So much has happened since then. To celebrate, we’re kicking off a full week of blogiversary festivities and behind-the-scenes posts. The celebrations begin tomorrow (Monday) and we’re planning to share a mix of fun, useful, and candid content all week long. Here’s what we have lined up:
- A day-in-the-life post from both of our perspectives (and updates from Burger & Clara)
- A big giveaway: a $500 shopping spree to one of our favorite stores
- An in-depth post with charts that explain how we earn money from the blog
- A numbers-focused post sharing stats about traffic, engagement, and even John’s soda-themed wardrobe
- A comprehensive Q&A — including personal questions answered on video and extra business insights
- Our annual “Who reads this blog anyway?” survey — we love learning about you
- Our five yearly blogiversary goals, plus a recap of last year’s goals and how we did
- The anatomy of a post, from concept to publish — it’s more of a process than you might expect
- A detailed post about hosting and coding, since many of you have asked for this
- Ten things we’ve learned about blogging over the past four years
That means we’ll be publishing two posts a day for the next five days — a packed schedule, but we’re excited to share more of the real-life and behind-the-scenes details we’d talk about if we ever ran a blogging workshop. We love sharing the practical and personal stuff with you. Is it Monday yet?
