When Mary sent us her amazing closet-to-office makeover, we had to share it. Below is the note she included about the project:
I wanted to tell you how much I absolutely love your blog. You two have given me so much inspiration since I found your site a few months ago. Please keep doing what you do! On another note, I wanted to share before and after pictures of a small project I tackled at our new house. We recently bought our first home and needed to downsize. We moved from a 2,000 sq. ft. rental into a 1,080 sq. ft. house that is ours. The only thing missing was an office. Our long-term plan is to enclose the back patio to create a larger office for my growing design business, but that probably won’t fit the budget for at least a year. For now, I turned the linen closet into a compact spot for office supplies, magazines, bills, a laptop, and other essentials. It’s not my dream office, but it works for the moment. Hope you enjoy! – Mary

And the charming mini office after:

We love the make-do mentality here. This compact workspace is a practical, attractive solution that lets Mary get to work without waiting for a major renovation. The cork boards mounted on the inside of the doors add useful display and organization options, while the shelving and surface space keep essentials within reach. Thank you, Mary, for sharing your inspiring before and after photos. What do you think—would a tiny closet office work in your home?
