We had to share this tiny, nearly cost-free makeover because you loved reading about Carrie’s swankified Philly apartment. While working on the living, dining, and kitchen areas, we didn’t want to ignore the blindingly white bathroom. With almost no money, we showed Carrie how small changes could make a dramatic difference in her blank-slate bath. Here’s the loo.
Here’s the before shot — truly a blank slate. The all-white look was clean and fresh, but a little stark:

We decided to bring in the same green we used in her living room, plus a pop of red, to warm the space and create a cohesive feel throughout the apartment:

The transformation relied on items Carrie already owned: small collectibles, a few red blooms for color, an inexpensive green hand towel, and a leafy print from Ikea to introduce that spa-like green accent. Even her make-up bag matched the new palette, so we pulled it from under the sink and displayed it on top of the toilet for another nature-inspired touch. It’s amazing how a handful of accessories can change a bathroom from stark to sweet without spending much at all.
