The past year has felt like a buffet of side projects — a coloring book, a teacher’s lounge makeover, a podcast, new lighting designs, and a big beach house renovation. Behind the scenes, though, the Petersiks have been quietly developing one more idea that tops the list of “random projects.” We’re finally ready to share it, and we couldn’t be more excited.
We’re a shoes-off-at-the-door household, but sometimes our feet still feel chilly. And just like you use art or paint to show your style, shouldn’t your feet get to express personality too? That playful idea led to PETERSOKS — and yes, the pun on our last name was irresistible (if you’re new here, we’re the Petersiks and we love puns).
After extensive research and prototyping (you’d be surprised by the engineering that goes into great sock design), we partnered with a top manufacturer to bring our ideas to life. They’ve worked with notable sock brands and entrepreneurs, so they really know the craft. Working with them to create our ‘SOKS felt like a dream.
PETERSOKS would launch this week with women’s and men’s designs, with kids’ sizes coming soon. Each pair references things close to our hearts — chihuahuas, tools, burgers — and others are just fun patterns we loved. Cacti are everywhere in home décor right now, so we figured, why not wear them on your feet?
We’re also constantly creating new designs and trying to push the sock envelope. One concept we teased involved a collaboration with a jewelry brand we admire to make mix-and-match socks with a small DIY element — pick your stone color, style, and placement. We joked about calling them “KENDRA SOKS.”
We imagined PETERSOKS as a fun way to add personality to an office outfit, to lounge around at home, or even to wear while tackling a renovation project. The thought of people styling their socks to suit their mood made us grin.
And then — happy April Fools! We’re not actually launching a sock line. But if any of the photos caught your eye, here are the sources for the quirky socks we used in the shoot: bikes, hamburgers, tools, chihuahuas, and stripes. Some other pairs were found on clearance at Target, so they’re not always easy to track down. Also, all the Kendra Scott earrings pictured belong to Sherry — she’s a bit of an admirer of the brand.
