Pashmina Granite Review and Buyer’s Guide at The Stoneyard

Our new and improved granite slabs arrived this week, and unlike our previous trip to the stoneyard, it was love at first sight. Here’s Sherry getting acquainted with our two slabs of Pashmina before they head off for cutting.

The best news is that our beautiful new countertops will be delivered on Tuesday. That means the Home Depot installer can return on Wednesday to reconnect the plumbing and, dare I say it, our new kitchen will finally be complete.

Until then, we can’t stop staring at this photo we took of our soon-to-be countertop.

Choosing Pashmina granite was an easy decision for us. Its warm, mottled tones and subtle veining complement the cabinetry and fixtures we’ve selected, offering both durability and timeless style. We appreciated seeing the full slabs in person — the scale, pattern repetition, and how light plays across the surface are all things photos can’t fully capture.

We’ve been planning this kitchen refresh for a while, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and budget. After several rounds of samples and mockups, these slabs felt like the natural final piece of the puzzle. Seeing them on-site confirmed how they’ll anchor the space and tie together the other elements, from hardware to backsplash.

Installation day will be a small flurry of activity: the delivery crew will set the slabs in place, the fabricators will make final cuts and polish the edges, and the countertop will be secured to the base cabinets. Once the installer reconnects the sink and appliances, we’ll test all plumbing and ensure everything is watertight and level. Those finishing touches always bring a mixture of relief and excitement.

We’re looking forward to putting new accessories on the counters — small practical items that also add personality: a wooden cutting board, a set of everyday dishes, a couple of jars for frequently used utensils, and a small planter or two. The goal is a kitchen that feels warm and lived-in without looking cluttered.

Because kitchen projects often take longer than expected, it’s been rewarding to reach this milestone. Having the countertops arrive soon means we’re very close to enjoying a fully functional space that reflects our design choices. We’ll share more photos after installation so you can see how the Pashmina slabs look in place and how the room comes together with the final plumbing and styling completed.
