Amanda’s bathroom makeover is a great reminder that paint can transform not only tired walls but also a worn wood vanity. Decorative drawer liners finish the look perfectly. Here’s her note:
I just wanted to share the before and after we just completed in Brian’s bathroom. You guys have been very inspirational and have become quite the household name—“Brian, you should see over on YHL, they have such and such in their house and it looks awesome!” or “You should see what they just did over at YHL—we could do that!!” So, thank YOU for opening your home to us and the many others to share your thoughts, ideas, and successful projects. I know that I specifically thought about what I loved so much about your house when we started on this project: the cool colors, the natural elements in the decor, and all of the bright white! I also love how you elevated your bathroom by raising the shower curtain to 95″. We’ll probably tackle that project sometime soon. Thanks for helping to empower and inspire us to take something that wasn’t great and turn it into something we think is awesome. We did it on a budget in a short amount of time—probably less than 20 hours total. Thanks again—keep on posting because I’ll certainly keep on reading! —Amanda
Here’s the bland builder-style before photo:

And here’s the chic, classic after, achieved with a bit of Amanda and Brian’s elbow grease:

This project shows how far paint can go as an affordable design tool. A fresh coat refreshed the room and modernized the vanity, while patterned shelf liners added a polished, custom detail. Small choices—clean white trim, a carefully chosen paint color, and simple decorative accents—made a big difference without a major renovation.
Have you tried a similar low-cost bathroom update? Amanda’s makeover is a great example of how focused effort and a few thoughtful changes can make a space feel new and inviting. Thanks to Amanda for sharing her project and photos!
