First of all, thank you — truly — for all the kind words and warm wishes about the birth of our little Clara. It means so much to have so many people sharing in our joy. Now, who’s ready to share in our diaper changes?
The winner of the baby pool (and the $100 West Elm gift card that came with it) correctly picked May 14th as Baby P’s birthday. While I’d love to tally how many people guessed that exact date, sorting through 5,600+ entries isn’t exactly at the top of my to-do list right now. I will say May 14th was a surprisingly uncommon pick — many folks guessed she’d arrive late or on her due date, which happens to be today.
In our informal family pool, not a single relative chose May 14th. Ironically, I had the closest guess overall with May 15 at 4:15 a.m., only about ten hours off. That wasn’t the result of any paternal sixth sense; I selfishly picked my own half-birthday as a fun random choice, and she decided to surprise us by coming a bit early.
As for that $100 West Elm gift card, it goes to one random entrant from the baby pool who chose May 14th. The random selection landed on Sue!
