2016 Home Video Tour: Inside Every Room and Design Highlights

Now that our kitchen remodel is finished, we thought it was the perfect time for a long-overdue video house tour. Our last tour was nearly three years ago and showed very little progress since it was filmed just seven months after we moved in. With the first floor now almost unrecognizable from that earlier footage, we grabbed the video camera and walked through the house — John filmed while I chatted about the updates. See if you can spot the two frames that currently display a sideways stock photo of a stranger; family photos are on order, but that girl in the hat makes us laugh for now.

If the embedded video doesn’t play in your reader, try opening the post directly or watch the tour on YouTube.

We also toured the upstairs, which isn’t as far along as the first floor. As mentioned in the video, two full bathroom renovations are still on our to-do list (our master bathroom will need a proper overhaul), plus smaller tasks like finishing an in-progress wall in our daughter’s room. You might notice some odd dark lines in the hall bath footage — our camera didn’t handle that lighting very well.

If the upstairs video doesn’t appear in your feed reader, try viewing the original post or watching it on YouTube.

If you have questions after watching the video tours, we’ve included relevant posts below for more detail. You can also browse our photo gallery for many before-and-after images (the Current House Tour page is mostly up to date, though it could use a few new shots).
