When Beth from the South emailed us photos of her refreshed sliding doors—using a simple trick we often recommend—we were excited to share the results. She wrote:
Hey there Youngsters! I wanted to show you how I copied your idea to dress up our sliding glass doors. Thanks for sharing this great concept (I love how it looks in your living room and den). Our existing hardware had been on the wall since the 1970s, so I sanded and spackled and painted the whole room a light blue to clean things up since the wall wouldn’t be hidden by a large valance anymore. All my friends ask how I did it, so I’m sure this window treatment will pop up around Atlanta soon. Thanks again for the inspiration! Also, thanks for the Behr “Paint Project” post—I tried the blue paint online first and then painted the room the next week. You guys ROCK! – Beth

What a lovely transformation. The fresh wall color brightens the room, and the airy curtains paired with bamboo blinds create a crisp, relaxed feel in Beth’s Atlanta living room. If you like this makeover, check out Beth’s blog to see more of her projects.
