A few readers noticed a small white object on the floor at the left side of the photo in our post about our new salt lamp and asked what it was:

It’s actually Burger’s compact food-and-water station. We tuck it behind the media stand so it stays out of the way for people but remains easy for our little chihuahua to reach. The setup was assembled from a few inexpensive items from Target that weren’t originally intended for pets — and it works perfectly.
Two small ribbed ceramic ramekins (about $2 each) placed on a simple white rectangular platter (about $9) = a tidy little doggy buffet for Burger. We’ve been using this arrangement since 2007. The ceramic pieces are non-porous, easy to wash, and have held up much better than plastic alternatives.

For nostalgia’s sake, here’s the original post where we showed the feeding station soon after we started the blog. Back then we were just getting started and posting felt like talking to ourselves — so thank you to everyone who reads and leaves comments. We really appreciate every one of you.
