Sunroom Makeover: Wood-Look Tile Ideas by Jenna Sue

Maybe I’m clinging to the last bits of summer, or maybe I’m dreaming of a sunroom makeover (ours hasn’t been touched since we moved in). It could also be that Jenna Sue has a real talent for beautiful renovations — you may recall her entryway transformation. Whatever the reason, enjoy this bright, cheerful update. Here’s her letter:

Hello again! Our sunroom started out with white walls, green trim, old carpet and a sagging ceiling.

We removed the ceiling, added insulation and installed humidity-resistant drywall (I painted it a soft blue and added recessed speakers and lighting). We also replaced the carpet with gray wood-look tile planks.

We bought two Brimnes daybeds from Ikea so we can finally host overnight guests.

I built a simple rustic coffee table…

…and a matching console table…

We added accessories and lots of pillows, made a no-sew slipcover for an old armchair, hung art, and now the space is perfect for summer gatherings.

Thanks for looking! – Jenna Sue

Thanks for sharing, Jenna Sue. We’re a little jealous we don’t live in sunny Florida right now. We appreciate the mix of practical renovations — the drywall, insulation, and tile work — alongside the homemade touches like the slipcover, coffee table and console. For more details on each project (and a clever hidden litter box for cat owners), be sure to visit Jenna Sue’s blog for the full breakdown. But first, let’s play our favorite-part game: Sherry is swooning over the two daybeds arranged to create a cozy daybed sectional, and I’m obsessed with the gray wood-look tile and that black cat who could be a family resemblance. When can we come by?
