In this weekend update—minor but heartfelt—I wanted to share a short dining room progress note. A few days ago I mentioned making new curtains, and they still make me ridiculously happy.


When I last showed the table it looked like this:

Yep—the branches have died. I never put water in the vase, so they quickly went from lush to dry. The idea that greenery survives purely on optimism and affection is officially debunked.
So, in real-life terms, the table is less charming than before. But the curtains still make me want to smooch them—no exaggeration.

Also, I borrowed one of the plates and a cup for use elsewhere, so the place settings are a little off. It’s a subtle reminder to clear the “nobody’s-coming-to-dinner” tableau and make it practical again.

Maybe I’ll sort it out tomorrow.
