Last October we teamed up with Joss & Main to curate a sale on their site — we combed through hundreds of items to create a “Young House Love” collection — and we had a blast. When they asked us back for a spring collection and offered an extra special perk for readers this time around, we were thrilled. (Side note: I used to spell that word “siked” until my freshman-year best friend corrected me after laughing for a solid five minutes.)

It still feels funny to be called “curators” — except maybe Curator of Outfits With Dog Hair and Cream Cheese Smears — but getting to reopen a little virtual decor shop over there for 60 hours is a treat. While we didn’t set the prices, we chose items across a range of budgets, from under $25 accessories to $250+ furnishings. The collection even includes a few pieces we own and love, like our sunny yellow kitchen radio and the gray nailhead chair in our living room. Below is a sampling of what’s in our Joss & Main collection, available through Saturday morning. If you’re not already a member, click here for an instant invite so you don’t get wait-listed. Then find the sale by clicking here.

In the interest of transparency: as with other collaborations, Joss & Main provides a modest commission to curators. That’s one of the ways we cover our bills — similar to income from our magazine column, book, and paint line (we’ve shared more on blog income here). Joss & Main also offers referral credits when someone you refer makes a purchase, and instead of keeping those credits, we asked if they’d let us collect them into a separate “gift account” to give away to one lucky reader. They agreed. So next week we’ll be using those credits for a big giveaway — stay tuned for details.

The collection will remain live for the next three days, ending Saturday morning. We had a lot of fun putting it together and hope it sparks ideas — whether that’s spray-painting a thrift-store find or trying a simple DIY twist on something that catches your eye. Speaking of what catches your eye, what accessories have you been loving lately? I’ve been oddly drawn to lamps — our house seems to lack surfaces for all the lamps I want — and to serving dishes, probably because of our new open kitchen shelves. John, on the other hand, has developed an unexpected fondness for accordion folders and houseplants. Go figure.
