Back on the Road: Just Beach Vibes

We’re writing this from the beach. Before you get jealous, it’s about 20 degrees out and we even saw a light dusting of snow last night. Still, we’re enjoying the chance to relax and recharge at John’s parents’ lovely beach house just outside Rehoboth, Delaware.

They recently bought the house and in just a few months they’ve made it feel warm and welcoming. We’ve spent our time playing board games, reading, watching movies, and snuggling with Burger. Between all that, we wanted to share a few decor ideas we loved while staying here.

First, meet the charming beach house — those starfish in the window above the door are a nice touch:

Here’s a simple but effective bathroom idea: toiletries arranged in a decorative basket with shells. It looks cute and keeps things organized:

The kitchen accessories are all red — from the coffee maker to the toaster and the kettle. The coordinated color scheme feels cheerful and bright:

We also had use of a fully functioning kitchen for the first time in months, and we made the most of it. One highlight was a fresh tomato, basil, and mozzarella pizza we put together at the house:

We head back to Richmond tonight. While this mini break from home improvement has been wonderful, it’s likely we’ll be back to wielding a hammer or paint brush within hours of returning. And honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
