Create Bold Graphic Art Prints Using Paint Pens

When Liz sent in her DIY art project, we were excited to share the results. Here’s her note:

I know you’re always creating fantastic DIY art, so I thought your readers might enjoy this simple project I completed. We had a blank wall in our den for over a year, and one evening I decided to make a playful, modern art series to bring it to life. The best part: it was incredibly easy. If you can use a paint pen, you can do this project. I painted the particle board backing that came with my frames (cardboard works too), used tape to mark where I wanted my lines, and then drew large white loops with a paint pen. You can see the full step-by-step process on my blog. Hope you like it as much as I do. —Liz

Isn’t it delightful? The deep inky blue background paired with crisp white loops reads like a refined textile or contemporary pattern, and the gallery-style frames elevate the whole look. It’s surprising that a simple paint pen can create such striking pieces. Thank you, Liz, for sharing this clever idea. If you’re inspired, try it on your own empty wall—it’s inexpensive, quick, and perfect for adding personality to a room.
