You may remember that in April, when Sherry was still expecting, we had some visitors drop by Clara’s nursery—one of them carrying a large camera.
The photos from that double-duty shoot for Do It Yourself magazine and Kitchen + Bath Makeovers have finally been released. The images that ran in Do It Yourself are out now (the Kitchen + Bath Makeovers images will appear later this year). Several readers have already spotted them in the current Fall 2010 issue.
Our regular “He Said, She Said” advice column took a one-issue break so we could share photos of Clara’s DIY-filled nursery. One shot required a ladder outside Clara’s window to capture a new perspective. The issue is packed with other great content as well. We like that Do It Yourself called it their “second chances” issue—it focuses on giving old salvaged items a fresh life. You can find the issue at bookstores and some home improvement retailers.
In other magazine news, Sherry has a feature in the latest ReadyMade magazine. If you spot the cover, look for the “Speed Clean Your House” mention at the bottom—that’s where Sherry’s contribution appears.
Turn to page 30 for Sherry’s interview (or enlarge the image to read it). The piece collects quick cleaning ideas meant to make tidying faster and easier. One note: the mention of chlorine bleach was added by the writer, included for readers who might be curious given our usual aversion to bleach.
The issue features many clever projects and inventive ideas—things like the green-roofed dog house on page 38—that remind us why we enjoy flipping through ReadyMade. If you have a chance, take a look at the rest of the magazine.
