How to Repaint a Dresser and Line Drawers with Contact Paper

When we saw the transformation Mindy achieved on an old dresser, we had to share the eye candy. Here’s her note:

I love your website and eagerly look forward to reading it every day. My husband and I needed a dresser but didn’t want to spend much. We prefer pieces that are solid and well-made, so when I found this antique dresser on Craigslist, I decided to give it a makeover. I removed the handles and filled the holes, sanded off the varnish, primed the wood, and applied two coats of Behr “Lime Light.” I drilled new holes for the knobs and lined the drawers with contact paper. It was a fun project—I completed most of it in one afternoon and let it dry for 24 hours before adding the new hardware. The dresser cost $20, paint $17, knobs $19, and contact paper $5, so the total came to about $60. Thanks for the inspiration! -Mindy
