We’re excited to share that the Petersik family is growing again — someone is going to be a big sister, and she couldn’t be more thrilled.

The new arrival is due in April, and we’re overjoyed to be expanding our family.

(I plan to gain a few sympathy pounds — the least I can do.)

Burger, our dog, doesn’t really understand what’s happening, but he’s always upbeat, which is comforting.

Sherry’s first trimester had its share of challenges — we were briefly shaken by a fender bender, and she dealt with significant nausea — but so far everything points toward a healthy pregnancy. Because Clara’s birth involved complications, this pregnancy is considered higher risk (we’ve talked about Clara’s birth in previous posts), so reaching this safe-to-share milestone felt especially meaningful. We shared the news with close family while Nonna was visiting, and now we’re happy to share it with you.
We know you’ll have questions, so we’ll do a follow-up post on Friday to answer as many as we can, similar to when we first announced we were expecting. In the meantime, I’ll be working on the sunroom while Sherry does her best to manage morning — and afternoon — sickness, probably with a paintbrush in hand.
