Painting Wood Kitchen Cabinets Black: a house log

This kitchen overhaul is as delicious as fresh baked bread. Here is Bridgette’s letter:
I enjoy following your journal and all the inspiring ideas! We are on step two of three for our remodel of our kitchen- we still have to install crème subway tile for the backsplash, put on the cupboard knobs, and accessorize the kitchen… BUT the bulk is done! And we are loving how it is turning out. Here are a few of our sources for your fabulous and curious readers:
- Granite: Santa Cecilia
- Island color: Mesa G21 (used Valspar paint)
- Cabinet color: ask your paint expert at the store to mix the blackest of black and then start with a tinted primer (used Valspar paint)
- Faucet: Price Pfister- Tuscan Bronze (Lowe’s)
- Lighting above island: Portfolio 1-Light Mini Pendant Bronze finishes (Lowe’s)
- Stools: Scoop stool, black (Target)
- Flooring: Tundra Laminate (IKEA)
Cheers & glad spring! -Bridgette

Thanks so much for sending the fabulous eye candy our way, Bridgette! Those black cabinets are especially classic and truly make all the difference. And of course we enjoy your thrifty shopping sources (Target, Ikea, and Lowe’s are three of our go-to places too). Hip hip hooray for affordable overhauls!
