When Dana shared her simple, budget-friendly stencil project, we knew we had to feature it. Here’s what she wrote:
I wanted to pass along a quick and inexpensive project you inspired. Some time ago you highlighted the knot stencil from Sunny’s Goodtime Paints in a mood board, and I instantly fell for it. My husband gave it to me for Christmas, and I recently used the stencil with fabric paint on a pillow cover and on laundry curtains that conceal the water valves and electrical cords in my laundry room. It was really easy, and I love how it turned out. Now I’m considering using the same stencil on my foyer wall after tackling these smaller fabric projects. For full details, see my blog. I spent $30 on the stencil, $6 on fabric paint, and $3 for clearance linen to make the laundry curtains (the pillow cover was free since I already had it). My total was $39 for one stenciled pillow and two custom linen curtains. Thanks for the inspiration! – Dana (& Steve)

What a stylish, low-cost way to add personality to a pillow or curtain panel. Imagine several knot stencils repeated across long, floor-length curtains for a luxe, custom look. Thanks to Dana for sharing these eye-catching photos — we’d love to see the foyer wall if she decides to stencil it next. Are you inspired to try stenciling now? That knot motif has always been one of our favorites.
Psst — you can also see another of Sunny’s beautiful stencils used on a sunroom floor for a striking effect. The creative possibilities really are endless.
