We promised a post about the project that kept us busy yesterday, and we’ll share that as soon as we can finish uploading and sizing the photos (we waited until morning light to shoot the afters). In the meantime, here’s another pillow update — a little theme that’s been popping up lately — that we’ve been meaning to post for the past week.
During our failed shower curtain attempt we mentioned that our trip to HomeGoods wasn’t a total loss. What we didn’t fully explain was the, well, fruit of that trip. We found a bold pair of greeny-gold pillows that practically shouted “I belong on your bed,” so we brought them home:

They were just $24 for the pair (about $12 each), and we thought they’d perfectly complement our bedding — the subtle lattice pattern and the slightly shiny fabric add texture and visual interest. We like the idea of a white pillow in front of them for contrast, so we’ll probably try to find an affordable ruffled white pillow at TJ Maxx or World Market. We might also go bold with a single bright color — eggplant or navy, for example — and coordinate it with art and accessories as the room evolves. For now, our white Paris pillow works as a placeholder. No rush.

We’re enjoying the extra pop of color in what used to be an all-white pillow collection on the new bed. That “we” includes Clara, who likes to play hide-and-seek behind them…

…and her big brother, who tends to go a little wild on and around them. You can watch his antics below:
Ah, dogs and pillows — you have to love them.
We’ll post a fuller update once the project photos are uploaded and sized. Stay tuned!
