Tour Schedule: Plan Your Perfect Guided Excursion

UPDATE: This post isn’t updated with recent tour info, so click here to see our official regularly‑updated tour page.

The day has finally arrived — we can now share the finalized tour dates for our book, straight from the publisher. We’re thrilled to get out on the road and meet so many of you.

Here are a few important notes:

1. We wish we could visit every city. If it were possible, we’d travel across the globe to thank every single reader in person. Tour planning involves many moving parts, so we’re grateful for every stop that was scheduled — especially since this tour ended up much larger than originally planned.

2. If we’re not coming to your city, don’t worry. We’ve planned a big giveaway coming this Monday that includes flying one winner and a friend to Richmond for the November 8 signing, plus meals and shopping. We’ll share full details soon.

3. More dates could be added. The tour might be extended depending on demand. Some stops, like Austin, were added after strong pre‑order interest. If a city isn’t listed now, there’s still a chance we’ll add it later — we’ll announce any updates as they happen.

4. The blog will keep running while we’re away. We’ve scheduled extra projects and lined up several house features to publish during the tour. If you live in a city we’ll visit and have a home you’d like featured, please email photos — we may be able to include it. We’ll also share travel photos and some silly video footage from events and flights, so you can come along virtually.

5. Clara and Burger will travel selectively. They’ll join us for some dates and stay with grandparents for the more hectic legs. They don’t love planes or disrupted routines, so we’re being careful about which events they attend. It’ll be tough to leave them behind at times, but we’re doing what’s best for them.

6. Please support our hosts by buying local copies. Event hosts — independent bookstores and retailers like West Elm and FLOR — appreciate when attendees buy a book at the event for us to sign. If you’ve already pre‑ordered and want a signed copy, that’s great; if possible, consider purchasing an extra copy at the event to support the local host.

That photo above is a “dummy copy” — a cover wrapped around a blank book — because our printed copies are still being produced. We expect to receive a preview soon, and we’re already excited.

Update #1: Some readers worried books wouldn’t be available at events before the official release date. Rest assured: every event will have stacks of books for sale and signing. I’ll also be practicing my signature — it tends to be a messy squiggle that changes each time.

Update #2: Our schedule reflects invitations from hosts; we don’t choose cities based on size. Many factors go into where we stop. The good news is the tour may expand, so stay tuned for updates.
