Holy bananas — we just put the For Sale sign in front of our house (the sign in that post was photoshopped, in case you couldn’t tell). It’s a big day: our house is officially on the market.

We’re busy prepping the house to attract buyers, tackling both curb appeal and interior touch-ups. We’ll share those updates as we go. For now, we’ve decided to try selling the house ourselves — a for-sale-by-owner approach — at least for a while. As avid DIYers, it felt natural to give it a shot, especially since my parents have often sold properties on their own. That said, we won’t hesitate to work with a realtor if interest is slow over the next few weeks.
We’ll keep you updated on how things progress. For the moment, you’ll find us parked in front of the window watching the little flyer box, waiting to see if anyone takes an info sheet. We expect neighbors will pick up copies — we do the same when someone nearby lists their home, just to see asking prices and compare houses — but we’re really hoping genuine buyers will stop by too. Cross your fingers (and eyes) for us. Off to clean every nook and cranny…
