It’s been far too long since our last window-shopping post (ten months — can you believe it?), so we’re excited to share what we found for everyone who requested another outing — especially those who used the word “piddle.” These walks through stores are just for fun: we wander, take photos of items we like, and share them with no sponsorship involved. Today we took a stroll through Target’s home section and came away with a bunch of things that felt fresh, affordable, and nicely designed. Let’s take a look.
First up: these oversized blue glass lamps, which were $49. They have great presence and a simple silhouette that would suit many styles.
We’re big fans of bees and hive shapes, so these hexagonal vases at $6.99 caught our eye. They’d be perfect for a small bunch of stems or grouped together on a shelf.
There was an Americana vibe in one corner — lots of red and white rugs and pillows plus clean-lined side tables. The tables were on sale in-store; I couldn’t find the exact price online, but they were worth a peek if your Target still has them.
We loved this blue-stained wood mirror for $19.99. It would work beautifully in a gallery wall or mixed mirror display for a pop of color and texture.
These Privet House poufs were $79.99 — not bargain-basement, but super cute, especially the coral option. They have a West Elm/CB2 sensibility and would add extra seating or a casual footrest.
If you know us, you know we adore ceramic animals. This cow creamer (also sweet as a tiny vase) was $4.99 and totally charming. Might be cute with a small bunch of flowers instead of cream.
These deep coral geometric drinking glasses were $3.49 and $3.99 and felt modern but playful.
The same design was available in green with a slightly different pattern (same price range). Both colors have a retro-modern feel and would mix nicely with summer tableware.
These patterned glasses were $5.49 and $5.99. With the red, white, and blue accents nearby, they give off a cheerful coastal vibe — think lobster-bake chic.
This utensil caddy was about $9.99 and comes in a few colors. It would be handy for carrying cutlery and napkins outside for meals once the deck is in — a simple but useful addition for outdoor dining.
These navy-striped sheets felt versatile — they could work in a dorm room or a more sophisticated guest room. Price-wise, twin sets were around $20, queen $29, and king $39.
These printed lamp shades were $19.99 and are an easy, inexpensive way to add pattern to a neutral space without committing to a full makeover.
I kept gravitating toward coral tones. This quilt had a detailed, almost tribal pattern that felt refined and a little global — imagine it paired with a deep gray headboard and navy accents for balance.
This ombré serving tray was a fun graphic piece that would look great on a coffee table or buffet.
I really wanted this $12.99 pillow, but John gently reminded me that I’m already overflowing with pillows. It was tempting, though — lovely textile and color.
These table runners were $17.99 and would be an easy way to brighten a simple white place setting for spring and summer gatherings.
Light, seasonal sheet sets were $29 for a full and $39 for queen. They felt breezy and fun — enough to make you want to rotate bedding by season if you’re into that sort of thing.
These indoor/outdoor doormats felt soft underfoot and were durable enough for the patio. We grabbed a few green ones to replace old jute mats; they were about $12 each and have held up well even after rain and muddy feet.
This rug felt special — a 5 x 8 with orange trim (about $126) that had a modern-yet-warm look. It would work in a child’s room or living space and felt a bit like something from West Elm.
Glass soap pumps and bath accessories had an old-apothecary charm. The pink glass options were especially pretty and would add a soft touch to a vanity.
We also spotted gummy fried-egg candies that made us smile — perfect for a themed kids’ party or a silly treat jar.
Garden-friendly items like woven baskets and colorful rain boots looked sweet grouped together and would make for cheerful outdoor styling.
In the pet section we found all-natural dog treats from Polka Dog Bakery that were adorable, along with fun toys and colorful bowls. One toy ice cream sandwich was just a bit too big for our dog Burger, but the selection was fun.
One Target purchase we did bring home: a toy storage bin we used at Clara’s party. It was on sale for $54 (down from $65) and we also saved an extra 5% with our card. It keeps balls, trucks, and overflow toys tidy and has been super convenient for outdoor play.
We had heard about lids that can drop quickly, so we keep the bin in the carport and only bring toys to the fenced patio under supervision. That way little hands aren’t getting in and out of it unsupervised, and it’s worked well for us so far.
