Blogiversary 6: Your Questions Answered About Our Journey

Get ready to cringe—in the best way. It’s time for our annual, inevitably awkward Q&A video. As we do every blogiversary week, we invited readers to submit personal (non-decorating) questions on our Facebook page last week. After more than 150 questions poured in, we settled down one afternoon while Clara napped and answered as many as we could. We then edited the responses into this 20-minute video. Highlights include:

  • Whether we’d ever let readers vote on our decorating choices
  • The one blog post we wish we hadn’t written
  • How we feel about snarky message boards
  • Thoughts on reversing our no-swag policy
  • What we’d change if we won the lottery
  • What our neighbors think about the blog
  • Whether we regret the blog’s name
  • Which ceramic animal I’d save during a zombie attack
  • How we keep the blog from taking over our lives
  • If our marriage is perfect (short answer: nope)
  • Why I probably won’t chop my hair super short again
  • Whether I still own just one bra
  • And yes—the much-anticipated possum-in-the-basement story

Ready to watch? Click play and prepare for awkward revelations, silly tangents, and a little real talk.

There you have it—another year of us sharing personal stories, debating mythical horse-sized ducks, and telling tales about mysterious mammals in our crawl space. Did anything surprise you? Did a new question pop into your head? We can’t promise to answer every comment here, but leave your questions and they might become fodder for next year’s Q&A.

Before we go, we want to hear about you. Every year we love learning who’s reading, and on Friday John turns that data into a nerdy infographic (last year’s had Beyoncé in it, so the bar is high).
