How Mistakes, Setbacks, and Near-Lawsuits Fuel Success

Young House Love celebrated its 10th anniversary this fall, so we’re reflecting on a decade of renovating homes, growing a business, and learning through plenty of mistakes — all while sharing it publicly online. Some turning points in decorating and business were crucial to getting us where we are today. Many of those moments didn’t feel good at the time; some felt downright awful, but they shaped everything that followed.

Here’s our first month of earnings from Google AdSense — $10.59. It still makes us laugh, but that’s two free paint brushes worth to us, so we’ll take it.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! A big thank you to Modsy for sponsoring this episode. They reimagined our awkward angled bonus room as a calm master suite — almost enough to make Sherry want to move our bed in there. Use the promo codes mentioned in the episode for savings on your first Modsy room during the promotional period.

Thanks for listening!
