Floating Wall Vases: Stylish Mounted Flower Holders for Home Decor

This week my small “Dude, Get On That Already” project was to hang three floating vases that I bought from CB2 about four years ago. They used to hang outside the kitchen in our first house and then got tucked into the playroom after we moved. I finally tracked them down and put them up in the guest bathroom, which instantly cleared three items off the playroom floor.

All I did was tap three nails into the wall, and now the vases are doing double duty—decorating the bathroom and freeing up cluttered playroom space. For now they hold simple grocery-store blooms. When those fade I’ll probably swap them for backyard clippings or leafy branches for a longer-lasting look.

This guest bathroom is one of the few rooms we haven’t really finished yet, but since we’re nearly done with the big kitchen project, I’m optimistic we’ll get to it soon. Small updates like this make the space feel more cared-for even before a full refresh.

I’m officially declaring tulips my favorite flower. It took me until almost 30 to decide, but now that I’ve said it, tulips win—at least until I change my mind.

In one of the photos you can see a brown rectangle in the corner of the room—that’s the large mirror from the guest room that’s supposed to hang above a dresser. Our house is still a bit chaotic from recent book photoshoots, so some pieces are temporarily out of place. Eventually everything will find its proper home, but for now I’m happy to be chipping away at small clutter and enjoying the little wins.

While installing the vases I took an embarrassing number of photos from every angle in this tiny bathroom. I even struck a mannequin-like pose for a few shots, because why not?

I even laid on the floor to shoot the ceiling—partly because this project wasn’t animal-related this week, and partly because the ceiling is one of the quiet, less-busy views in a room that still feels unfinished.
