Spring has arrived, evident in our blooming azaleas and, admittedly, my recurring seasonal allergies. With the sunny season in full swing, I decided to give a couple of side tables in our sunroom a quick, cheerful refresh. Here’s one of the tables before the update:

And here’s the brighter, more spring-like after. The sea fan was a find from a recent island getaway, and the striped coasters—so cute—are a gift from John’s sister that add a playful touch beneath the glass.

Here’s what the other side table looked like before my spring sprucing:

And here’s the happier, shinier after. I gathered a few old wine bottles, glass vases, and even an old blue soap dispenser (without the pump) and grouped them on a tray. When sunlight pours through the window, the arrangement turns into a playful display of color—like three-dimensional stained glass. A couple of starfish add a seaside accent and keep the vignette interesting.

Here’s a close-up of my favorite small detail: an unexpected starfish used as a cork, which adds a whimsical, coastal touch to the ensemble.

Variety truly is the spice of life. While we adore white accessories (many of them, actually), a splash of color does wonders to complement the season’s blooms and lift the mood in a sunny room. Spring is a great time to refresh small corners of the home—no big overhaul required, just simple edits and a few personal finds.
Do you have any spring rituals? Do you launch into cleaning sprees, swap out decor, or head out on shopping sprees? What routines or rituals put a spring in your step each year? I’d love to hear what you do to welcome spring in your space.
